Measles vaccination and revaccination for Adults

Re-vaccination with the measles vaccine is recommended in several specific scenarios:

1. Adults without evidence of immunity: Adults born in or after 1957 who do not have documentation of at least one dose of the MMR vaccine or other evidence of immunity should receive at least one dose of the MMR vaccine. Those in high-risk settings, such as healthcare workers or international travelers, should receive two doses separated by at least 28 days.

2. During outbreaks: In the context of a measles outbreak, individuals who are not fully vaccinated or lack evidence of immunity should receive the MMR vaccine. This includes infants aged 6-11 months who should receive one dose, and unvaccinated individuals who should complete the two-dose series.[4]

3. Healthcare personnel: Healthcare workers who are seronegative for measles antibodies should receive the MMR vaccine. If they have received only one dose previously, they should receive a second dose
