Dr. Thukkaram provides palliative care consultations in the office.
Palliative care includes symptom management for individuals with chronic disease, including those that are life limiting. Patients can continue with curative therapy while undergoing palliative care.
Dr. Thukkaram also works closely with JFK Haven Hospice to provide hospice care to patients that are terminally ill, both at home and at JFK inpatient Hospice Unit.
She has also been involved with Dean Foundation - a hospice care provider in Chennai, India.
Patients may be both referred by their physicians or self referred.
Dr Thukkaram is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Care by the American Board of Medical Specialities
